Matthew Stafford Staying Put: Rams Lock Him in with New Deal

Matthew Stafford Staying Put: Rams QB Gets New Contract

Matthew Stafford isn’t going anywhere.

Despite speculation that the veteran quarterback could be on the move, the Los Angeles Rams have locked him in with a new contract, according to ESPN. The 37-year-old had been given permission to explore trades after expressing frustration with his deal, which had two years and $58 million remaining.

Stafford proved in 2024 that he’s still a top-tier starter, throwing for 3,762 yards and leading the Rams to the playoffs. Now, instead of a fresh start elsewhere, he’ll continue his run in L.A. as the Rams aim for another postseason push.
