2025 NFL Offseason: Biggest Priorities for Every NFC North Team

NFL Offseason Priorities: Can the Lions Fix Their Defensive Issues?
The NFC North was stacked last season, with the Lions, Packers, and Vikings all winning 11+ games—but none made it past the first round of the playoffs. For Detroit, the biggest offseason priority is clear: fix the defense.

Despite finishing as the NFC’s top seed, the Lions’ defense collapsed down the stretch, allowing 30+ points in four of their last six games, including 45 in their playoff loss to Washington. With their Super Bowl window wide open, they need serious reinforcements.

Big Moves on the Horizon?
Detroit could take a swing for the fences by trading for Myles Garrett or pursuing Maxx Crosby, adding a second dominant edge rusher opposite Aidan Hutchinson. If they look to free agency, Chase Young is an option, while the NFL Draft could bring in young talent like edge rusher Jack Sawyer or corner Trey Amos.

The Lions have one of the best rosters in the NFL, but without fixing their defensive holes, another early playoff exit could be on the horizon. What should their top move be this offseason?
