The 2025 NFL Combine wrapped up Day 3 with wide receivers and quarterbacks taking the field. While the Detroit Lions aren’t looking for a quarterback, there were plenty of intriguing wide receiver prospects to evaluate—especially those who could fit as a WR-X in Detroit’s offense.
Some of the biggest standouts included Missouri’s Luther Burden III, who ran a 4.41 40-yard dash and showed off a massive catch radius, and Iowa State’s Jayden Higgins, a 6-foot-4 target with a strong connection to Lions tight end coach Tyler Roehl. Other notable names included Stanford’s Elic Ayomanor, Texas speedster Isaiah Bond, and Tennessee’s Dont’e Thornton Jr., who ran an eye-popping 4.3 40-yard dash before leaving drills early. With the Lions potentially in the market for a receiver, these performances could shake up their draft board.
