Top 10 Free Agents the Lions Should Have Their Eyes On

10 Free Agents Who Could Be on the Lions’ Radar
With free agency just a week away, the Detroit Lions are preparing to retool their roster for the 2025 season. While GM Brad Holmes has emphasized retaining key players, the recent salary cap increase could give Detroit room to make a few outside additions. Here are 10 potential targets:

Milton Williams (DT) – A disruptive force during Philly’s Super Bowl run, but at just 26, he’ll have a strong market.
Khalil Mack (OLB/Edge) – Still effective at 34, Mack could bolster Detroit’s pass rush alongside Aidan Hutchinson and Za’Darius Smith.
Brandon Scherff (G) – A rock-solid veteran who didn’t allow a sack last season, making him a great fit if Kevin Zeitler isn’t re-signed.
Dayo Odeyingbo (Edge) – A big-bodied pass rusher (6’6″, 286 lbs) who could thrive opposite Hutchinson.
Darius Slay (CB) – A potential homecoming for the 34-year-old, who still plays at a high level and could mentor Detroit’s young DBs.
Sebastian Joseph-Day (DL) – Versatile enough to play anywhere on the defensive line, making him a valuable depth piece.
Azeez Ojulari (OLB/Edge) – Could fit as a rotational pass rusher or SAM linebacker if Derrick Barnes isn’t re-signed.
Josh Palmer (WR) – A reliable option who has topped 500 yards in each of the last three seasons, adding size to the receiving corps.
Javon Kinlaw (DT) – Had a breakout season with the Jets and could be a strong rotational piece inside.
Talanoa Hufanga (S) – An All-Pro in 2022, he could provide depth and physicality at safety if Ifeatu Melifonwu isn’t retained.
Holmes and the Lions have decisions to make, but these names could help strengthen the roster for another deep playoff run.
