Detroit Predicted to Bolster Defense with Ex-Giants Pass Rusher

Lions Eyeing Former Giants Pass Rusher Azeez Ojulari as Affordable Edge Option

The Detroit Lions have been linked to several high-profile edge rushers this offseason, but with a looming extension for Aidan Hutchinson, a big-money move seems unlikely. Instead, The Athletic’s Mike Jones predicts the Lions will target former New York Giants second-round pick Azeez Ojulari as a more budget-friendly option.

Ojulari showed promise as a rookie, racking up eight sacks and 27 pressures, but injuries have hampered his production in the years since. Despite playing just 58% of snaps last season, he still managed six sacks, proving he can be effective when healthy. At only 24 years old, he fits Detroit’s young defensive core and could be a valuable rotational piece without breaking the bank. If the Lions want to solidify their pass rush before the draft without making a massive financial commitment, Ojulari could be the perfect fit.
