Yankees Insider Drops Hint About Major Roster Move Ahead of Season Opener

The Yankees are facing some major decisions before Opening Day, and it’s kind of wild to think a team with so much money is still figuring things out. They’ve got a few spots up for grabs, like third base and leadoff hitter, which seems a bit much for a team like New York. Plus, there’s the whole left-field mess, especially if they’re not convinced about Jasson Dominguez’s defense yet. And don’t forget Giancarlo Stanton’s injury, which has been known since last year. Things are a little messy right now, and with just a few weeks until the season starts, they’re not much closer to finding answers.

Dominguez is showing some improvement, but until he consistently proves himself defensively, or becomes a power hitter who can make up for his defense, it’s going to be a big question mark. If he struggles on both sides, it’ll be tough for the team to handle day in and day out. Maybe Yankees insider Joel Sherman is onto something, hinting that a trade might be in the works.

Then there’s Everson Pereira, who once was a top prospect but now has fallen off the radar after a bad 2023 debut and Tommy John surgery. He’s only been able to DH so far, but if he comes back strong, he could compete for a spot in left field with Dominguez. Pereira could also become a trade piece if the Yankees need to make some changes to the roster. But for now, it’s all just talk. No one knows for sure what will happen, but it’s just another thing for Yankees fans to think about before the season kicks off.
