It’s going to be tough for Ohio State fans to say goodbye to Will Howard, especially after he led the team to a National Championship last season. But now, with Howard moving on to the NFL, he’s confident that the Buckeyes are in good hands with the next generation of talent.
There’s going to be some competition for the starting QB spot this spring and fall, but it looks like Julian Sayin is the guy to take over. Howard, who spent a lot of time with Sayin, believes his former teammate is ready for the spotlight. “Now it’s his time,” Howard said.
Sayin, a quiet and soft-spoken player, is expected to shine as the new leader of the Buckeyes. Howard also mentioned other quarterbacks like Lincoln Kienholz and Tavien St. Clair, but it’s clear that Sayin and St. Clair are the top contenders. Sayin has a lot of hype after transferring from Alabama, and with Howard’s support, he’s set up for a big 2025 season.
Even though St. Clair—ranked as a 5-star QB in the 2025 class—is a strong competitor, if Sayin lands the starting job, he’s ready to live up to all the high expectations.
