Carlton Davis III is officially moving on from Detroit, but he made sure to thank the city before heading to New England. After agreeing to a three-year, $60 million deal with the Patriots, Davis took to Instagram to post a simple message:
“Thank you, Detroit.”
The Lions reportedly made a final push to keep Davis, but he opted for the bigger payday. However, Detroit wasted no time locking in his replacement, signing D.J. Reed to a three-year, $48 million deal.
With Reed now in the fold, the Lions’ focus shifts to adding more depth at cornerback and strengthening their pass rush as they continue shaping their roster for 2025.
