Commanders Land Versatile Safety with Saints, Lions Experience

The Washington Commanders are adding depth to their secondary with the signing of former Lions and Saints safety Will Harris.

Harris, a third-round pick by Detroit in 2019, agreed to a two-year, $8 million deal with Washington. He played last season with the Saints, recording 74 tackles and five pass breakups in 13 starts. While his Pro Football Focus grade ranked him in the middle of the pack, the Commanders see him as a potential upgrade over Jeremy Chinn.

With several big moves already this offseason, Washington is working to revamp its roster under new defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr.
