Bad news for Billy Joel fans—”The Piano Man” is hitting pause on his tour for health reasons. The legendary singer just announced that he’s postponing several concerts, including his March 29 show at Detroit’s Ford Field with Stevie Nicks.
Joel took to Instagram to explain that he’s undergoing surgery and will need four months of recovery and physical therapy. The good news? He’s expected to make a full comeback.
“While I hate postponing shows, my health has to come first,” Joel wrote. “I can’t wait to get back on stage and share the music with you all. Thanks for understanding!”
If you already have tickets, don’t worry—they’ll still be valid for the new dates:
Detroit (Ford Field) – Nov. 15, 2025 (w/ Stevie Nicks)
Toronto (Rogers Centre) – Mar. 14, 2026
Syracuse (JMA Wireless Dome) – Apr. 10, 2026 (w/ Sting)
Salt Lake City (Rice Eccles Stadium) – May 22, 2026
Edinburgh (Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium) – June 6, 2026
Liverpool (Anfield Stadium) – June 20, 2026
Charlotte (Bank of America Stadium) – June 20, 2026 (w/ Sting)
Milwaukee (American Family Field) – TBD (w/ Sting)
Joel was last in Michigan in 2022, playing Comerica Park, while Stevie Nicks was in Grand Rapids last year and Detroit in 2023.
He recently wrapped up his long-running residency at Madison Square Garden, where he played nearly one show a month since 2014. Now, he’s taking some well-deserved time off to recover before hitting the road again.
