Lions Add Reinforcements: Detroit Set to Sign Nose Tackle

The Detroit Lions are adding more muscle to their defensive front, reportedly signing nose tackle Roy Lopez to a one-year, $4.65 million deal. Lopez, who spent last season with the Arizona Cardinals, brings solid starting experience and will help bolster Detroit’s run defense.

Originally drafted by the Texans in 2021, Lopez has started 50 games in his career and is known for his strength in the trenches. He’ll rotate with veteran DJ Reader, adding much-needed depth at nose tackle. The Lions are clearly focused on fortifying the interior as they continue building a defense capable of making another deep playoff run.
