Detroit could be getting its own WNBA team again, and Eminem is reportedly jumping in to help make it happen. The league is expanding, with three new teams already confirmed, and there’s talk of adding at least one more—possibly even three.
According to Sportico, Em has joined forces with Detroit’s major sports team owners (Pistons, Red Wings, Tigers, and Lions) to push for a franchise in the city. If it happens, it would mark the return of WNBA basketball to Detroit for the first time since the Shock left in 2010. The Shock, one of the WNBA’s early expansion teams, won three championships before relocating to Tulsa and eventually becoming the Dallas Wings. Now, with the WNBA riding a wave of new star power, Detroit could be back in the mix—and Slim Shady is all in.
