Grant Stuard Says Lions’ Culture Drew Him to Detroit

Grant Stuard Chooses Lions for Culture Over Playing Time
New Lions linebacker Grant Stuard could have signed somewhere with an easier path to playing time, but one factor made Detroit the clear choice—culture.

“Culture, immediately,” Stuard said after signing his one-year deal. “I’ve watched Detroit, played against them, and my family’s been rooting for them since Dan Campbell arrived. I love to work hard, improve, and be coached. This environment is perfect for that.”

Stuard, who spent the last three seasons with the Colts, has made his biggest impact on special teams, logging over 1,000 career snaps. He also saw his most significant defensive action last season, recording 40 tackles and two tackles for loss.

His relentless play style should fit right in with the Lions. “Whether it’s setting up a play for someone else or running through a fullback’s face, I’ll do whatever it takes to help the team win,” he said.

With experience on both defense and special teams, Stuard adds valuable depth to Detroit’s linebacker unit—while embracing the hard-nosed culture that’s made the Lions a rising force in the NFL.
