The Dallas Cowboys are lucky to have a star like CeeDee Lamb leading their wide receiver room. But if they want to truly unlock his full potential, they need to give him a running mate—someone who can take the pressure off and open up the offense. That’s where Nick Brinkerhoff of USA Today steps in with a compelling idea that’s bound to catch Cowboys fans’ attention: Stefon Diggs to Dallas.

“The Cowboys are still on the hunt for a receiver that can take some attention away from Lamb and the well is running dry,” Brinkerhoff wrote. “Diggs might be coming off an ACL tear, but going from Houston to Dallas makes plenty of sense, especially with his brother, Trevon Diggs, already on the Cowboys.”

Brinkerhoff makes a valid point. Not only would this move reunite the Diggs brothers, but it also makes logistical sense—Stefon Diggs wouldn’t even have to leave Texas, having played the 2024 season in Houston. A move to Dallas would keep him close to home and possibly give him a fresh start with a contender.

There’s no denying Diggs’ track record. Originally drafted in the fifth round by the Minnesota Vikings in 2015, he quickly made a name for himself. He spent five seasons in Minnesota before joining the Buffalo Bills, where he became one of the league’s most dynamic receivers. While he enjoyed big moments in Buffalo, tensions behind the scenes eventually led to his trade to the Texans. Unfortunately, his 2024 campaign was cut short by a torn ACL.

Still, when healthy, Diggs is a game-changer—and the Cowboys could use one. Right now, Dallas is projected to roll into the 2025 season with Lamb, Jonathan Mingo, and Jalen Tolbert as their starting trio at wide receiver. Adding Diggs to that group could instantly raise the offense’s ceiling and give Dak Prescott another dangerous weapon in the passing game.

And here’s the kicker: Dallas might not have to break the bank to make it happen. At age 31 and coming off a major injury, Diggs may come at a more team-friendly price—something that could be especially attractive for a front office navigating tight cap space.

Of course, Dallas won’t be alone in the race. Brinkerhoff also mentioned the Chargers and Patriots as potential suitors. But if Jerry Jones wants to make a splash and get this team over the hump, this might be the kind of move that makes too much sense to pass up.

Now, it’s just a matter of whether the Cowboys will make the call.
