Detroit Lions Fans ‘Knocking on Wood’ After Levi Onwuzurike’s Recent Comments

Levi Onwuzurike Confident in Lions’ 2025 Defense: “It’s Not Going to Happen Again”
The Detroit Lions have locked in defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike for another year, signing him to a one-year deal for the 2025 season. And if you ask him, the Lions’ defense is set to make some serious noise.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Onwuzurike reflected on the team’s red-hot start in 2024 before injuries—including Aidan Hutchinson’s season-ending setback—derailed their momentum. But he’s not dwelling on the past. Instead, he’s boldly predicting that history won’t repeat itself.

“What happened last year was crazy, we can all admit that. It’s not going to happen again,” Onwuzurike said. “That’s one of those rare things that happened. You saw how we were rolling at the beginning of the year. To have all those guys back, everybody side by side, we’re going to cause some damage for sure.”

While Lions fans love the confidence, some can’t help but knock on wood, hoping this isn’t a jinx. If Detroit’s defense can stay healthy in 2025, Onwuzurike’s optimism might just turn into reality. And if both sides of the ball remain intact, this could be a truly special season for the Lions.
