Detroit’s receiving unit will stay strong in 2025, as the Lions have officially announced the return of wide receiver Tim Patrick on a new deal.

Patrick’s journey has been anything but easy. Battling injuries in college, going undrafted, and being waived three times before ever stepping on an NFL field, his path to stability was a long one. Eventually, he carved out a role with the Broncos, proving himself as a reliable target. However, setbacks returned—first a torn ACL sidelined him for the entire 2022 season, then a torn Achilles cost him all of 2023.

After Denver released him in 2024, Detroit took a chance on the veteran. That move paid off, as Patrick worked his way back into form and solidified himself as the Lions’ third receiver last season.

Patrick has made it clear where he wants to be. At the start of free agency, he posted on social media that Detroit was “the only team [he] wanted to play for.” Now, he gets to continue that journey in Honolulu blue for another year.
