- Za’Darius Smith
At 32 years old, Smith still has plenty of gas left in the tank. He racked up nine sacks and 17 quarterback hits in the 2024 season, split between the Lions and Browns. His flexibility along the defensive front would be a huge boost to Detroit’s pass-rush capabilities. Smith’s experience and production make him an attractive option for the Lions. - Azeez Ojulari
This 25-year-old is an intriguing option, with youthful upside and untapped potential. Despite limited action, Ojulari managed five sacks in the 2024 season. He’s a valuable short-term investment for Detroit, with the potential to make a significant impact. Ojulari’s athleticism and pass-rushing skills make him a promising addition to the Lions’ defensive front. - Von Miller
Although he’s 36, Miller’s elite pass-rushing skills haven’t completely diminished. He may not be the dominant force he once was, but he’s still a force to be reckoned with. Miller could bring some much-needed experience and skill to the Lions’ defensive front. His presence would not only improve the pass rush but also provide valuable mentorship to the team’s younger players.
The Lions must prioritize upgrading their pass-rushing capabilities to compete with the NFL’s top offenses. These three EDGE rushers offer a mix of experience, production, and potential, making them attractive options for Detroit. By signing one or more of these players, the Lions can significantly improve their defensive front and make a push for the playoffs.
