Tide Can’t Keep Up: Florida Cruises to 104-82 Victory

The Florida Gators dominated the Alabama Crimson Tide 104-82 in their recent matchup at the Southeastern Conference Tournament semifinals. The Gators’ impressive performance was led by senior point guard Walter Clayton Jr., who scored 22 points, including six 3-pointers, and dished out six assists without a turnover.

The Gators had six players score in double figures, including Alijah Martin and Will Richard with 16 points each, and Rueben Chinyelu with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Florida’s strong offense shot 51% for the game and went 12 of 27 from the 3-point line (44.4%).

On the other end of the floor, the Gators’ defense held the Tide to just 42% shooting for the game, including 34% in the second half. First-team All-SEC point guard Mark Sears was held to just nine points and did not make a 3-pointer.

With this win, the Gators advanced to the 2025 SEC Tournament championship game, where they will face sixth-ranked Tennessee.
