Alabamas NCAA Tournament run just got a little more stressful. Head coach Nate Oats isn’t happy with how his team has been performing, and now, senior forward Grant Nelson is dealing with a knee injury at the worst possible time.

During Alabama’s loss to Florida, Nelson went down with an apparent knee issue. While tests showed no ligament damage, there’s still significant swelling and soreness. Oats gave an update on Monday, saying, “We’re hoping, at a minimum, he’d be ready by Sunday with the possibility of maybe Friday.”

Nelson is a key piece for the Crimson Tide—a versatile big man who rebounds, stretches the floor, and provides leadership. With tough matchups ahead, Alabama will need all hands on deck if they want to avoid an early exit from March Madness.
