Detroit Lions Re-Sign Craig Reynolds and Pat O’Connor for 2025

Lions Re-Sign RB Craig Reynolds, DL Pat O’Connor to Bolster Depth

The Detroit Lions are keeping two of their own in the fold, re-signing running back Craig Reynolds and defensive lineman Pat O’Connor as they continue to shape their roster for the 2025 season.

Reynolds has been a steady presence in Detroit since joining the team in 2021, proving his value as a versatile backup and special teams contributor. Over the past four seasons, he has played in 42 games, recording 150 carries for 650 yards and a touchdown while adding 24 receptions for 255 yards. Though not a featured back, Reynolds has stepped up when needed, particularly in 2022 when injuries to D’Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams thrust him into a bigger role. His ability to contribute on special teams also makes him a valuable asset in Detroit’s system.

O’Connor, meanwhile, returns for another year after playing 12 games for the Lions last season, tallying 18 tackles and a sack. The veteran defensive lineman spent his first six seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, appearing in 68 games and earning a Super Bowl ring in 2020. Though primarily a rotational player, O’Connor provides depth and experience to a defensive line looking to build on its strong 2024 campaign.

Both signings reinforce the Lions’ commitment to continuity and depth as they push for another playoff run in 2025.
