Did
Alex Ovechkin score? Nope.
The good stuff: The Red Wings have one of the best power plays in the league, but the Caps didn’t let them use it—not even once. They played a completely penalty-free game, which worked in their favor. Since the Caps are solid at five-on-five hockey, keeping things even-strength gave them the edge, and it paid off.
Not-so-good stuff: The Caps gave up a few too many scoring chances—ones they definitely could have avoided with smarter plays and better execution. With the playoffs getting closer, they’ll need to clean that up fast.
