Rodgers Watch: Steelers, Giants Still Hunting as Vikings Step Back

Aaron Rodgers is taking his time deciding where he’ll play next, and the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants are stuck waiting. The Minnesota Vikings were his top choice, but they’re officially out of the race, leaving Pittsburgh and New York as the final contenders.

Even though Rodgers has standing offers from both teams, he hasn’t made up his mind. The Steelers don’t seem to mind waiting, and money isn’t a problem in negotiations. The Giants are also willing to hold out, though they’re considering adding a backup QB just in case.

Steelers, Giants Keeping Their Options Open

Pittsburgh re-signed Mason Rudolph on a one-year deal as insurance, while the Giants are looking at Jameis Winston as a potential short-term addition.

Rodgers’ prolonged decision-making has frustrated NFL insiders, but the Steelers and Giants are still prioritizing him over other available quarterbacks, including Russell Wilson. That said, if Rodgers keeps dragging his feet, either team could pivot to Wilson or another veteran.

Meanwhile, the Giants have the third overall pick in the draft and could take a quarterback if Rodgers remains undecided. If top prospects like Shedeur Sanders are still available, New York could have a tough choice to make.

For now, the waiting game continues—Rodgers is in no rush, and the Steelers and Giants are willing to be patient.
