Aaron Rodgers’ 2025 Contract Demands – Here’s What He’s Asking For

Aaron Rodgers, the former Green Bay Packers quarterback, is officially a free agent after being released by the New York Jets. The Jets made it official last week, freeing up Rodgers to find a new team while allowing New York to spread out his cap hit. Everyone saw this coming after weeks of rumors, and now the focus is on where he’ll go next.

It seems like Rodgers might be eyeing the Minnesota Vikings, his old division rivals, for a 2025 comeback. The Vikings had a great 2024 season, finishing 14-3, but they had a rough playoff exit. The team’s thinking about bringing Rodgers in to replace Sam Darnold, who just signed with the Seahawks. The Vikings are an appealing option for Rodgers, not just because of their strong offense but also because he’d get to team up again with former Packers teammate Aaron Jones.

Though the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers have shown some interest, Rodgers is reportedly pushing for the Vikings to make a move. But Minnesota hasn’t committed yet.

On the financial side, Rodgers is hoping for a decent paycheck, considering he’s made over $380 million in his career. His last deal with the Jets was worth $112.5 million over three years, and while he’s open to a pay cut, he’s looking for something similar to the deal Sam Darnold got from the Seahawks—around $110 million for three years. Rodgers is 41 now, so the big question is whether the Vikings are ready to spend that much on him.
