After the 2025 NFL Draft, it’s clear the Detroit Lions aren’t going to have an easy path through the NFC North. No big shock there.Even though the Lions lost a few coaches during the offseason, they’ve still got a lot going for them — especially when it comes to keeping their roster together. The big names on offense like Jared Goff, David Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs, Sam LaPorta, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Jameson Williams are all still around. Plus, that offensive line is as solid as ever.At wide receiver specifically, Detroit’s looking good, bringing back St. Brown, Williams, Tim Patrick, and Khalif Raymond.

Meanwhile, one of their biggest rivals — the Green Bay Packers — are heading into a bit of a mess after the draft.

The Packers used two of their early picks on receivers, grabbing Matthew Golden and Savion Williams. Now, while they’re both talented, they’re entering an already packed wide receiver room with guys like Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, and Dontayvion Wicks. That’s a lot of players who all want the ball — and not enough passes to go around.

Making things trickier, Watson is hurt and might not even be ready to start the season. Doubs, on the other hand, had some struggles last year, and there’s already talk about whether the team might move on from him. Oh, and both Watson and Doubs are entering contract years, which only adds more pressure.

Some Packers fans are hyped about Wicks too, based on the little they saw of him last season. But now, with two rookies thrown into the mix, he might get pushed to the back again — and that’s not going to sit well.

Bottom line: the Packers have a lot to figure out at wide receiver. There’s already some tension brewing, especially after running back Josh Jacobs publicly said they need a real number one guy. They might have gotten some new talent through the draft, but it also looks like they might have created a bigger headache for themselves.
