Aidan Hutchinson Opens Up About the Tough Road to Recovery from Leg Injury

Aidan Hutchinson Details Grueling Recovery from Season-Ending Injury

Detroit Lions defensive star Aidan Hutchinson is nearing the end of a long and painful recovery process after a devastating tibia break cut his 2024 season short. Hutchinson, who had 7.5 sacks in just five games, suffered the gruesome injury during the Lions’ Week 6 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Speaking on *The Pat McAfee Show*, the former Michigan standout opened up about how challenging the rehab process has been, calling it “an absolute monster” and describing his hospital stay in Dallas as “the most miserable days” of his life.

This isn’t Hutchinson’s first experience with a season-ending injury—he also suffered one at Michigan—but he admitted this recovery has been much more difficult. Despite early speculation that he could return in time for a potential Super Bowl appearance, the Lions’ playoff loss to Washington made that question irrelevant. Now, he’s focused on completing rehab and returning at full strength for the 2025 season. With his relentless work ethic and determination, Hutchinson is poised to pick up right where he left off—terrorizing opposing quarterbacks and leading Detroit’s defense.
