Aidan Hutchinson isn’t worried about the Detroit Lions losing their top coordinators. The standout player believes that, ultimately, it’s the players who make the biggest difference, not coaches like Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn.
The Lions’ turnaround from a 3-13-1 season in 2021 to becoming NFC’s top team in 2023 with a 15-2 record is one of the NFL’s most impressive stories. Dan Campbell deserves much of the credit for the team’s rise, but many experts highlight coordinators Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson as key contributors to their success.
With both coordinators moving on to head coach positions—Glenn with the Chicago Bears and Johnson with the New York Jets—questions loom about whether Detroit will keep up their momentum in 2025. However, Hutchinson remains optimistic, emphasizing the importance of players over coaches in determining a team’s success.
