Alabama basketball is heading to the Sweet 16 for the third year in a row after taking down Saint Mary’s 80-66 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday night. The Crimson Tide’s offense came alive with some big dunks and solid teamwork, while their defense dominated in the first half.

Saint Mary’s, known for their slow play, couldn’t keep up with Alabama’s fast-paced style. The Tide started a bit slow but soon found their rhythm, building a solid lead by halftime. Saint Mary’s tried to fight back in the second half but never really threatened Alabama’s control of the game. The Crimson Tide’s depth was too much for them to handle, with six players scoring in double figures. Clifford Omoruyi led the charge with a double-double (10 points and 11 rebounds), including a jaw-dropping dunk that got the crowd on their feet.

Up next, Alabama faces BYU in the Sweet 16 on Thursday. Coach Nate Oats knows his team will need to stay focused and be ready for whatever adjustments BYU throws at them, but they’re pumped for the challenge.

It’s a big win for Alabama as they keep their March Madness run alive!
