Alabama football might not have the most loaded 2026 recruiting class right now, but that could change soon. Reports suggest the Crimson Tide is in a strong position to land Jorden Edmonds, a highly sought-after five-star cornerback from Marietta, Georgia.

Recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong from On3 has predicted that Edmonds will choose Alabama, which would be a major win for head coach Kalen DeBoer and his staff. Edmonds, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound athlete from Sprayberry High School, is ranked as the No. 1 cornerback in the nation and No. 27 overall prospect in the 2026 class. He’s a versatile player, excelling on both defense and offense, where he also plays wide receiver and contributes as a kick returner.

In his junior year, he racked up 35 tackles and three pass deflections on defense while also recording 670 receiving yards and four touchdowns as a wideout. On special teams, he added over 270 return yards.

Edmonds has offers from more than 40 major programs, including top teams from power conferences. He’s already visited Alabama multiple times and has another trip planned for June. Other schools still in the mix include Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia, where he also has visits scheduled.

Right now, Alabama’s 2026 recruiting class sits at No. 38 nationally, according to 247Sports. While there’s still plenty of work to do, landing a player of Edmonds’ caliber would give the class a huge boost.
