Alabama Legend Swaps Sabanland for Cali as New Gym Coach

Bama Champ Heads West to Lead Cal Gymnastics

Big news from the gymnastics world — Geralen Stack-Eaton, a former Alabama star and two-time national champ, is taking over as the new head coach for Cal women’s gymnastics!

After spending over a decade as an assistant coach at Minnesota, Stack-Eaton’s finally getting her shot to run the show. Cal made it official on Thursday, naming her their 14th head coach in program history.

In her intro statement, she said she’s all about mentorship, empowerment, and high-level performance. Her goal? Help her gymnasts grow into confident leaders and chase big dreams — both on the mat and beyond.

Stack-Eaton knows a thing or two about winning. She was a 12-time All-American at Alabama and helped the Tide snag back-to-back national titles in 2011 and 2012. She also grabbed individual national titles on floor (2011) and beam (2012). Safe to say Cal just landed someone who knows how to compete — and win — at the highest level.

Fun fact: Alabama and Cal went head-to-head in the Tuscaloosa Regional just last season. Now, Stack-Eaton will be leading the Golden Bears instead of facing them.
