Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell, one of the top prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft, is in recovery mode after undergoing surgery on his left shoulder.

Campbell revealed to ESPN’s Jordan Reid that he had surgery to repair a torn labrum following his performance at the Scouting Combine. Despite the injury, he still put up impressive numbers, running a 4.52-second 40-yard dash and hitting 10 feet, 7 inches in the broad jump. However, he skipped the bench press and vertical jump.

His recovery timeline raises questions about his availability at the start of the season, but it doesn’t seem to be hurting his draft stock. Many mock drafts have him landing with the Buccaneers, who hold the 19th overall pick.

Campbell originally left the ReliaQuest Bowl with an upper-body injury, though it’s unclear if that was the start of his shoulder issue. Last season, he was a force on the field, earning first-team All-SEC honors with 117 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, five sacks, an interception, two pass breakups, and two forced fumbles.

Now, it’s all about rehabbing and getting back to full strength before his NFL career officially kicks off.
