The Crimson Tide’s recruiting machine is heating up, and this time it’s the wide receiver room that’s getting a major boost.
In less than 24 hours, Alabama secured commitments from two elite wide receiver prospects, reinforcing its reputation as a top destination for future NFL-caliber pass-catchers. The twin pickups mark a crucial step for head coach Kalen DeBoer, who continues to build a potent offensive arsenal for the post-Saban era.
The first domino to fall came with the announcement from four-star receiver Braylon Carter, a 6-foot-2 speedster out of Houston, Texas. Carter chose Alabama over offers from Georgia, Texas A&M, and Oregon, citing the Tide’s “championship culture and elite development.”
> “They know how to prepare you for the league,” Carter said during his commitment livestream. “And I want to be part of something great.”
Just hours later, top-100 prospect Jacoby Samuels, a dynamic slot receiver from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, made his pledge to Alabama public. Known for his shiftiness and electric after-the-catch ability, Samuels said the decision felt “natural,” pointing to his bond with receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard.
> “Coach Shephard kept it real from day one,” Samuels said. “The system fits me, and I know I can shine there.”
The double haul has fans and analysts buzzing, especially as Alabama looks to return to the high-flying offensive form that defined much of the previous decade. With Jalen Milroe likely entering his final season, the Tide are clearly stacking talent around their next quarterback.
Recruiting experts see the moves as a signal that Alabama’s offensive identity remains a draw.
> “Back-to-back receiver commitments of this caliber is a statement,” said 247Sports recruiting analyst Hank South. “Even with the coaching transition, Alabama still carries elite weight in recruiting circles.”
Carter and Samuels bring different skill sets to the table—Carter with his vertical explosiveness and red-zone potential, Samuels with his elite footwork and YAC skills—but both fit seamlessly into Alabama’s evolving offensive scheme.
The Tide’s 2026 recruiting class now ranks among the top five nationally, with more big names potentially on the way. Alabama continues to chase five-star receiver Cederian Morgan and recently hosted top-ranked quarterback Tyrell Chase, who was seen chatting with Carter and Samuels during his visit.
With momentum clearly on their side, Alabama’s recruiting trail is turning into a full-speed sprint—and the wide receiver room is reaping the rewards.
