Alabama Standout Mark Sears Announces Jersey Number for NBA Debut

MILWAUKEE — Former Alabama guard Mark Sears has officially revealed his jersey number for his rookie season in the NBA. The 2025 first-team All-American will don No. 19 for the Milwaukee Bucks, as confirmed via the team’s social media channels .

After going undrafted in June, Sears quickly secured a two-way contract with the Bucks and their G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd  . During his collegiate career, Sears wore No. 1 at Alabama—a number that remains retired on the Bucks in honor of Oscar Robertson. Setting aside that honor, Milwaukee opted to assign him 19, unveiling the jersey to fans with the caption: “Number 19, Mark Sears”  .

Sears concluded his time with the Crimson Tide as one of its most decorated scorers, ranking second all-time with 1,487 points and securing consecutive All-American honors in 2024 and 2025  . He also led his team deep into the NCAA Tournament, including a historic 2024 Final Four run  .

With the Bucks officially confirming his roster spot, Sears will also take part in Milwaukee’s Summer League slate, which kicks off on July 10 against Denver  .

Fans can expect to see Sears debut in cream-and-green this summer, as he transitions from Alabama’s storied program to the hardwood of the NBA—sporting his new number and ready to continue making his mark.
