Alabama’s offensive line is shaping up, and two familiar faces are putting in the work to solidify their spots. Redshirt sophomore Wilkin Formby and redshirt senior Jaeden Roberts have been lining up together for a while now, and that chemistry could be a big factor heading into the 2025 season.

Formby, competing for the starting right tackle job, talked about what it’s like playing next to Roberts, who’s got a strong shot at locking down the right guard spot.

“A lot of people don’t realize we’ve been playing together for so long,” Formby said Tuesday. “When I first got here, he was with the 2’s, so we got a lot of reps together during spring and fall camp. It’s awesome playing next to J-Rob—we’ve got good chemistry, and he brings that energy.”

That energy translated into a solid 2024 season for Roberts, who started 12 games at right guard. Formby, meanwhile, saw action in two starts at right tackle. Now, they’re both grinding to make sure they’re on the field together when the season kicks off.

If they end up as the right-side anchors for Bama’s O-line, expect some serious power in the trenches.
