All Eyes on Soto as Mets Chase World Series Dream

The New York Mets are putting a lot of faith in Juan Soto to help them make a World Series run. According to veteran reporter Hector Gomez, Soto will be playing 10 games in the Dominican Winter League before heading to his first spring training with the Mets. Soto confirmed that he asked the team for permission to join the league, and the Mets gave him the green light.

Soto just signed a huge 15-year, $765 million contract with the Mets, making him their most valuable player. While it’s a bit risky—considering past injuries to other players like Ronny Mauricio and Edwin Diaz during offseason play—the Mets trust Soto’s judgment.

Soto had an impressive year with the Yankees, finishing third in AL MVP voting, hitting 41 home runs, and driving in 109 RBIs. He was a key player in helping the Yankees win the AL pennant, though they lost to the Dodgers in the World Series. Now, the Mets are hoping Soto can help them go all the way in 2025.
