America Rises Again: 400 Protests Across 50 States Target Trump’s Presidency

Massive Anti-Trump Protests Planned Across All 50 States This Weekend

The United States is gearing up for a second big wave of protests against Donald Trump’s presidency this Saturday. Around 400 rallies  are expected nationwide, organized by a grassroots group called 50501  named for their goal of holding protests in all 50 states.

In Washington DC, people plan to gather outside Vice President JD Vance’s residence and at  Lafayette Square. The protests will also include a march starting near the Washington Monument, heading towards the White House, calling attention to cases like  Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran man deported from Maryland despite having protected US status.

This will be 50501’s fourth major protest since Trump took office in January. A previous event called “No Kings Day” gained extra attention after Trump later referred to himself as a “king” online. The group also organized “Hands Off” Protests  on April 5, which included over 1,200 rallies across the country.

Heather Dunn, a spokesperson for the group, said these protests are about defending democracy and standing against what they see as growing authoritarianism. She described the movement as nonpartisan and nonviolent, bringing together people of all political backgrounds who believe in fair government.

Organizers are hoping for a huge turnout  aiming for 11 million people, or about 3.5% of the US population. If that happens, it would easily top the April 5 Protests..
