Will Anderson Surprises Girls Flag Football Team
Former Alabama and current Houston Texans edge rusher Will Anderson made a surprise visit to the Wheatley girls flag football team. Anderson teamed up with Academy Sports to give each player a $250 gift card to shop in the store.
Anderson, the 2023 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 draft, even tried his hand as a cashier, interacting with each of the players as they checked out with their apparel. This act of kindness made a significant impact on the team.
Anderson’s successful rookie season in the NFL saw him record 11 sacks and help the Houston Texans return to the playoffs.
