After an 8-0 run to end the first half and extend their lead to 48-39, Arizona stayed ahead the rest of the game, despite a brief scare when Oklahoma State cut the lead to five. Arizona pushed their advantage back to 20 points late in the second half and never let up.
This win moves Arizona to 12-6 overall and 6-1 in Big XII play, tying them with Iowa State for second place. Arizona’s offense was on fire, and this was their most efficient performance against a Big XII team so far. They also outscored Oklahoma State in the paint (38-24), grabbed more steals (10-4), and had a fast break point edge (15-10).
Arizona now has a big matchup against Colorado on Saturday, followed by a crucial game against Iowa State on Monday. With their strong play, Arizona’s looking like a serious contender for the Big XII title in their first season in the conference.
