B.C. Lions fans are in for more than just football at this year’s home opener. On Saturday, June 7, the team is pulling out all the stops with a pregame concert by none other than rap legend Snoop Dogg. With over 50,000 tickets already sold, BC Place is set to be packed — and the party’s getting started long before kickoff.
Doors open at 4:45 p.m. and Snoop is expected to take the stage around 5:45 p.m. Organizers are urging fans to arrive early to avoid long lines and soak in the full experience. “Show up early,” said BC Place GM Chris May. “This is an event, not just a game.”
But don’t let the headliner fool you — there are a few rules to follow. Despite Snoop’s famous love of marijuana, smoking and vaping of any kind is strictly prohibited inside BC Place. That said, fans can still toast the evening with themed drinks at the special Gin & Juice bar in Section 213. On the menu: three different gin-and-juice cocktails and a special hot dog called “The Dogfather” — a bacon-wrapped all-beef wiener topped with pineapple mango jalapeño salsa and hot honey aioli.
This pregame concert continues the tradition started in 2021 by Lions owner Amar Doman, with previous acts including One Republic, LL Cool J, and 50 Cent. Last year, a crowd of nearly 54,000 packed BC Place for 50 Cent’s performance.
Beyond Snoop, fans will also get their first look at the 2025 Lions squad. With Vernon Adams Jr. now in Calgary and Nathan Rourke firmly back at QB, the Lions enter the season drama-free and focused.
From themed games like “Summer Camp” and “Orange Shirt Day” to family-friendly deals like the White Spot Family Pak, the Lions are making their games more than just a football outing — they’re full-blown events. And with transportation options like the Wings Express buses from across the Lower Mainland, getting to the stadium has never been easier.
Expect big crowds, loud music, and a high-energy football game — but leave your weed, big bags, and selfie sticks at home. BC Place is throwing a party, and Snoop Dogg is just the beginning.
