Bad News for Lions: Maxx Crosby Delivers a Stark Warning

Maxx Crosby’s Comments Could Derail Detroit Lions Fans’ Dreams

Detroit Lions fans have long dreamed of bringing Michigan native Maxx Crosby to their team, envisioning him pairing with Aidan Hutchinson on the defensive line. Crosby, who hails from Lapeer and played at Eastern Michigan, seems like a perfect fit for the Motor City—his energy and toughness aligning well with Detroit’s gritty identity.

However, Crosby’s recent comments about the Las Vegas Raiders’ hiring of head coach Pete Carroll could dim those hopes. In a January 29 interview on SiriusXM’s “Let’s Go” podcast, Crosby expressed excitement about working with Carroll, emphasizing the shared focus on energy and competition.

Crosby said, *“I love somebody with that type of mentality. He’s a winner. He’s done it his whole career. And it’s just exciting to see what’s going to come soon.”* With the Raiders in rebuild mode, Crosby seems committed to their future and has a strong bond with Carroll and new general manager John Spytek. He even mentioned that the Raiders are “not wasting time” and are ready to get things rolling.

Despite Detroit fans’ hopes of Crosby returning home, his enthusiasm for the Raiders’ direction suggests he may be sticking around in Las Vegas, especially with the new coaching changes. While Crosby is under contract with the Raiders for a few more years, this does not completely rule out a trade, though it’s unlikely to happen anytime soon.

Adding to the speculation, NFL analyst Tyler Brooke has suggested that the Green Bay Packers could be a strong candidate to trade for Crosby, noting that they need an immediate pass-rush upgrade for a potential Super Bowl run. While Crosby’s future in Detroit may be uncertain, his commitment to the Raiders for now puts a significant damper on the dream of seeing him in Lions blue.
