Bama Athletes Crush It in the Classroom

It’s not just about winning on the field—Alabama’s student-athletes are showing out in the classroom too. Nearly 70 of them just landed a spot on the SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll. That includes folks from men’s and women’s basketball, gymnastics, and swimming & diving.

Some standout names include Mark Sears, Grant Nelson, Sarah Ashlee Barker, Aaliyah Nye, and Lilly Hudson. Altogether, there were 8 honorees from each basketball squad, 9 from gymnastics, and a whopping 46 from swimming & diving (18 guys, 28 girls).

To get on the Honor Roll, athletes need a GPA of at least 3.0 either for the last school year or overall—and they’ve got to be at least in their second year.
