Bama Men’s Tennis Pulls Off Big Comeback Win Over Auburn

The Alabama men’s tennis team pulled off a dramatic comeback Thursday night against rival Auburn. After falling behind 3-1, Bama rallied with clutch singles wins from Filip Planinsek, Roan Jones, and Damien Nezar to take the match 4-3.

Head coach George Husack was pumped about the win. “It was another magical moment on court six,” he said. “Shoutout to the guys on courts one, two, and five—Filip, Roan, and Matic—for grinding it out. Roan and Damien had to dig deep in their matches and really fight to the end. Our coaching crew kept them calm and confident. Even though we lost the doubles point early on, the team stayed locked in and brought it home. Just a total team win.”

Both Jones and Nezar sealed their matches in dramatic fashion, each winning third-set tiebreakers.
