The Detroit Lions have signed linebacker Derrick Barnes to a three-year contract extension worth $25.5 million, with $16 million guaranteed.
Barnes, a fourth-round pick in the 2021 draft, has developed into a crucial piece of the Lions’ defense. He had a breakout year in 2023, recording 81 tackles, and has emerged as a speedy linebacker with solid coverage skills.
