Browns Should Keep an Eye on These Cut/Trade Candidates Around the League

The Cleveland Browns have built a strong, playoff-caliber roster—but there’s always room to improve, especially with training camp and preseason roster cuts just around the corner. Whether due to salary cap issues, young talent rising up depth charts, or tough positional battles, several quality players could be on the move this summer. And the Browns would be wise to stay alert.

One area Cleveland may still look to bolster is wide receiver. If a talented pass-catcher becomes available—especially one with speed or red-zone ability—they could be a smart pickup. Same goes for offensive line depth, where teams often have more capable linemen than they can keep. Veterans who fall victim to youth movement elsewhere might be exactly what the Browns need to shore up their trenches.

On the defensive side, linebacker and cornerback are two positions worth monitoring. Injuries and inconsistency have hurt Cleveland in those spots before, and a savvy trade or waiver claim could go a long way once teams start trimming rosters.

With a competitive AFC North and high expectations, the Browns can’t afford to stand still. Whether it’s a surprise cut or a trade bargain, there are always opportunities to get better—and good teams know how to capitalize when they see one.
