Detroit Lions fullback and team captain Jason Cabinda recently shared his optimism about the team’s transition to new coordinators on both sides of the ball. Speaking on Good Morning Football, Cabinda emphasized his belief that the Lions will continue their upward trajectory despite the coaching changes.
This offseason, the Lions saw major staff moves: Ben Johnson departed to become the Washington Commanders’ head coach, leading to the promotion of Tanner Engstrand as Detroit’s new offensive coordinator. On defense, Terrell Williams took over as defensive coordinator, replacing Aaron Glenn, who left for a head coaching opportunity with the Tennessee Titans.
Cabinda praised the culture established by head coach Dan Campbell and the front office, saying it will help ensure a seamless transition for the new coaches. He highlighted the team’s veteran leadership and cohesion, which he believes will allow both coordinators to find success quickly.
“The culture that Dan [Campbell] has built is unmatched,” Cabinda said. “We’ve got great guys in the locker room, leaders who know how we want to play. I have full faith we’ll keep things rolling.”
Cabinda’s comments reflect a broader confidence around the Lions organization, as the team looks to build on its 2024 NFC Championship Game appearance and continue to push for its first Super Bowl berth.
