Carolina Panthers Secure Breakout Cornerback with New Contract

Former Lions CB Mike Jackson Re-Signs with Panthers After Breakout Season

Cornerback Mike Jackson is staying with the Carolina Panthers after a strong 2024 campaign. The former Detroit Lions defender, who has also spent time with the Cowboys, Patriots, and Seahawks, inked a new deal following a season where he started all 17 games and racked up two interceptions, 17 pass breakups, and 76 tackles.

Jackson’s journey from journeyman to starter took off when Carolina acquired him from Seattle just before Week 1. His steady play helped the Panthers’ defense, even as the team missed the playoffs. Now, he’ll continue to be a key piece in Carolina’s secondary moving forward.
