TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama’s tradition of producing elite wide receivers just got a major boost, as 5-star recruit Cederian Morgan has officially secured one of the highest rankings ever for a Crimson Tide wide receiver commit.
Morgan, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound standout from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is currently ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class by 247Sports Composite and sits among the top 15 overall prospects nationally. His commitment to Alabama earlier this summer sent shockwaves through the recruiting world — and now, his elite rating places him in rarefied air.
According to recruiting analysts, Morgan’s ranking makes him one of the top three highest-rated WR recruits in Alabama football history, trailing only former stars Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley, both of whom went on to become first-round NFL Draft picks and dominate at the college level.
“This is a huge get for Alabama,” said recruiting analyst Charles Simmons. “Cederian Morgan has the physical tools, route-running precision, and game-breaking speed that put him in the same category as some of the best who’ve ever come through Tuscaloosa. He’s a future WR1 in the making.”
Morgan’s tape showcases a wide receiver who combines size, speed, and natural ball-tracking skills with the polish of a seasoned route technician. His ability to high-point contested catches and explode after the catch has made him a nightmare for opposing secondaries — and a dream recruit for head coach Kalen DeBoer and offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb.
In a recent interview, Morgan expressed his excitement about joining Alabama’s legacy of wide receiver excellence.
> “Seeing what guys like Julio, Amari [Cooper], and DeVonta [Smith] did here — that means something,” Morgan said. “I want to be the next great one. I want to win championships and leave a legacy of my own.”
Alabama’s 2025 recruiting class already ranks among the top in the country, and Morgan’s commitment only strengthens the Tide’s offensive outlook for the future. His arrival comes at a time when Alabama is looking to reload its receiver corps after key departures to the NFL and transfers.
Morgan is expected to enroll early in January and will have an opportunity to compete for playing time immediately, given his advanced skill set and Alabama’s commitment to getting its best athletes on the field.
As Alabama continues its push for another top-ranked class, Morgan’s name stands out — not just for what he brings now, but for what he could become.
