Chargers rookie offensive tackle Joe Alt made an appearance on NFL Network’s “Inside Training Camp Live”, giving fans a look behind the scenes just days before his team kicks off the 2025 preseason in the Hall of Fame Game against the Detroit Lions.
Alt, the No. 5 overall pick in this year’s draft, joined the broadcast straight from Chargers practice, where he’s been hard at work preparing for what could be his first NFL snaps. While quarterback Justin Herbert won’t be suiting up for the Hall of Fame Game, Alt and several other young players are expected to get valuable reps as Los Angeles tests its depth.
The 6-foot-8 lineman spoke confidently about his transition to the NFL, saying the coaching staff and veteran teammates have helped him adjust to the faster pace. Alt also hinted that the team’s offensive line is starting to build real chemistry — something vital as the Chargers aim to rebound from last season’s disappointing finish.
With all eyes turning to Canton on Thursday night, Alt’s development will be one of the biggest storylines to watch as the Chargers face off against the Lions in the first official preseason matchup of the year.
