Another One! Charvarius Ward Adds to the Cowboys’ Growing List of Critics

The Dallas Cowboys’ offseason has been a rollercoaster—players calling each other out, free agency disappointments, and now another former player taking a shot at the organization.

First, DeMarcus Lawrence left for the Seahawks and didn’t hold back, saying, “Dallas is my home … but I know for sure I’m not going to win a Super Bowl there.” That sparked a social media spat with Micah Parsons, who wasn’t about to let that comment slide.

Now, Charvarius Ward, who started his NFL journey as an undrafted rookie with the Cowboys in 2018 before getting traded to the Chiefs, has added his two cents. Ward, now with the Colts, talked about his brief stint in Dallas on a Colts podcast, saying, “I was strappin’ all them boys. I thought I was making the team, but Dallas don’t make a lot of good decisions, so they traded me.”

It’s becoming a trend—former Cowboys players openly criticizing the team. And to be fair, it’s not hard to see why. Dallas has had a habit of looking good during the season, only to collapse spectacularly in the playoffs. Just ask their fans about the embarrassing loss to the seventh-seeded Packers or the Dez Bryant “catch that wasn’t” drama from years ago.

Usually, it’s fans and analysts clowning Jerry Jones and the Cowboys online, but now ex-players are piling on too. And with the team coming off a 7-10 season and promoting Brian Schottenheimer to head coach, it’s hard to tell if next season will be any better. Cowboys fans might want to brace themselves—it could be a long year.
