Chile’s Leader Commends Modi’s Unparalleled Ability to Connect with World Powers

Chile’s President Gabriel Boric Font had some interesting words about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s global standing. He pointed out that India has a unique diplomatic edge, allowing Modi to engage with world leaders who normally don’t see eye to eye.

Boric noted that while some countries struggle to connect with certain leaders, Modi manages to maintain conversations with Russia’s Vladimir Putin, the U.S.’s Donald Trump, and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy   all at once. He even called Modi’s diplomatic position “weird” because of how he can talk to just about everyone, from Western powers to BRICS nations and even Iran.

During his visit to India, Boric attended a banquet hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. He expressed Chile’s interest in strengthening ties with India, emphasizing that his country does not rely on just one major ally. He also shared how much India has evolved in the past 16 years, highlighting the significance of his visit.

Boric’s trip, from April 1 to 5, marks the 76th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Chile. The two nations are discussing collaborations in trade, health, defense, and natural resources. Modi acknowledged that while India and Chile are far apart on the map, their similarities bring them together in meaningful ways.
