China Demands US Scrap Trump-Era Trade Tariffs, Calls It a Mistake

China Tells the US: Drop Trump’s Tariffs Completely

China’s getting pretty fed up with the trade fight and is now asking the US to scrap Trump’s reciprocal tariffs altogether. This comes after President Trump recently announced some exceptions for smartphones, laptops, and a few other electronics  but China says that’s not enough.

On Sunday, China’s commerce ministry made it clear they want the US to “correct its mistakes” and get rid of these tariffs for good, calling for a return to fair, respectful trade between the two countries.

In typical dramatic fashion, a Chinese spokesperson said, “The bell on a tiger’s neck can only be untied by the person who tied it” basically saying it’s up to the US to fix what they started.

Trump’s administration had just announced that phones, laptops, and other consumer electronics would be left out of the tariff list. But the majority of Chinese products still face a steep 145% tariff, even after a short 90-day tariff pause ended.

Things have heated up lately  on Friday, China fired back by raising tariffs on American goods from 84% to 125% after the US hiked its own duties. Beijing’s also calling on other countries to stand up against what it calls Trump’s “economic bullying.”

China says they’re ready to fight this out if they have to, claiming they’ll ignore the tariff “number games” and keep pushing back if the US keeps messing with their trade interests.

Bottom line:China’s had enough of Trump’s tariffs and wants them gone   not just partially, but completely.
